Our Commitment to Child Safeguarding

The safety and wellbeing of every child at Breath of Heaven’s Children’s Village is our highest priority. As an organization caring for vulnerable children in Zambia, we hold ourselves to a standard of protection that goes beyond good intentions. Our commitment includes:

• Staff and volunteer screening: All staff, house parents, and volunteers with regular access to children undergo a background screening process before beginning their role.

• Photo and media consent: Photos and videos of children shared on this website and our social media are used with appropriate care. We avoid publishing children’s full names alongside their photos and limit identifying details about their specific location or daily routine.

• Reporting concerns: We take any concern about a child’s safety seriously. If you have a concern related to a child in our care, please reach out through our Contact page.

• Ongoing training: Staff receive regular training on recognizing and responding to signs of abuse or neglect, in line with both Zambian child protection standards and international best practice.
