Breath of Heaven Makes an Appearance at Spirit West Coast 2008

What started as a vision of one pastor, continues to see growth and exposure. What better place to share the vision than at the largest, multiple day Christian music festival in the Southwestern United States. From May 23-25, Breath of Heaven Children Ministries sponsored a booth at Spirit West Coast in Delmar, Ca.  In addition to general brochures and video, we showcased the recently published I Am Zambia book  (www.iamzambia.org). IAmZambia.org is a project of Awaken Humanity, a ministry of MOSAIC LA. In the summer of 2007, a team of photojournalists traveled to Lusaka, Zambia to try and document the plight of the children in Zambia affected by AIDS/HIV and poverty. This book is part of the result of that trip, the voices and images of the ones who shared their stories with us. But this book is also the beginning of a new foundation. Every book sold will go into the construction of a children’s village, specifically geared towards housing, educating and nurturing orphaned children. From our efforts at Spirit West Coast, we were able to raise a total of $750.00.  In addition to the fundraising, the three day concert/event allowed us to make many great contacts and we were able to hand out about 5,000 flyers and brochures.

Mosaic Los Angeles Makes Green by Going Green

In other fundraising news, Mosaic, Los Angeles donated $2,041.00 to the childrens' village with money raised from collecting bottles for recycling at their morning services.  They have also donated another $7,860.00 through their Awaken Humanity program. Way to go!
